Jackson EMC invites local high school sophomores and juniors in our service area to apply for the annual Washington Youth Tour.

Stay tuned for details on how you can apply to become a Jackson EMC delegate on the 2020 Washington Youth Tour, scheduled for June 18-25, 2020.

Application Checklist 

(Please read before starting your online application)

Before you apply, write your essays and secure your recommendations. You will be asked to upload them. Please allocate 30 minutes to complete and submit your application online, which should be completed in one sitting. 

• Write your short answer essay:

Describe one project or activity in which you are involved, and explain why it is important to you.

• Write your essays: 

Topic 1: Some of the core values of Jackson EMC are: outstanding service, stewardship, integrity, accountability, teamwork, trust and community involvement. Explain how you will be the best representative of our values on the 2019 Washington Youth Tour.

Topic 2: Explain the differences between an electric cooperative and an investor owned utility (IOU), and how it affects electric customers, including your family.

• Submit two recommendations:

You will need to attach or upload two letters of recommendation outlining why you should be selected as a Washington Youth Tour delegate for Jackson EMC. Note: Only one letter may be from someone employed by your school. You may upload the recommendations, or you can mail them to:

• A parent or legal guardian must provide a digital signature at the end of the application form.
