Sit Down with the CEO

Twice a month Chip Jakins, Jackson EMC President and CEO, sits down with a small group of employees to hear their ideas, concerns and suggestions about the direction of the cooperative.

The groups are small, typically with ten or less employees, but a two-year cycle has been developed allowing every employee to meet with Chip in this setting at least once every two years.

Small group meetings give different groups of employees the opportunity to interact with Chip and each other. They hear about company successes, challenges, and learn from each other.

Tim Neisler, Warehouse Coordinator in Oakwood, said a recent small group meeting he was a part of was a great opportunity to hear about Chip’s vision for the company directly from the CEO himself. It also provided an opportunity for Tim and his coworkers to give feedback on things they thought we could do better.

“We talked about things in our meeting with Chip we thought could improve the member experience and they actually happened,” he said. “I think it’s a great thing that has made a huge difference to a lot of people.”
