Nepotism Policy

Close relatives of Jackson EMC's employees or directors will not be considered for employment by the Cooperative either on a temporary or a permanent basis. The term "close relative" means children, foster or stepchildren, or their spouses; husband; wife; sister; brother; parents, foster or stepparents; grandparents; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; mother-in-law or father-in-law; sister-in-law or brother-in-law, either by blood or marriage; or any relative residing in the employees' or directors' households. Persons living together in conjugal relationships, even though not legally married, will be considered “close relatives.”

The main purpose of this policy is to make employment available to as many different families as possible, in keeping with the public service nature of our Cooperative’s business.
