Jackson EMC is one of several electric cooperatives in Georgia offering energy education resources through the SPARK Energy Education Program. Together with Green Power EMC, Georgia’s electric cooperatives launched educational programming in 2005.
SPARK Energy Education provides participating schools with access to data from solar installations across the state and curriculum to study solar energy.
The curriculum for SPARK was developed by the University of West Georgia in partnership with Green Power EMC.
The program provides lessons appropriate for middle school students, high school students and some that can be used at either level. The curriculum offers four primary areas: Physical science, physics and chemistry; math; biology and environmental science; and earth science.
