(October 5, 2015) - After strong winds and heavy rain caused power outages across Northeast Georgia, Jackson EMC crews are wrapping up restoration efforts. By midday Sunday, more than 5,000 members were without power, mostly due to trees and limbs down on power lines across the region.
Crews worked throughout the day, cutting that number to around 500 members by 10 p.m. Sunday. Work continued overnight, dealing with mostly isolated outages. As of 8:30 a.m. Monday morning, 4 members remained without power. Some members may require repair to their home’s service entrance before power can be restored.
More rain is expected Monday, but high winds are not in the forecast. Crews are prepared to respond to any new outages that occur. Members can report outages online at www.jacksonemc.com or by calling 1-800-245-4044.
