Crews worked through the night, and in the last 12 hours Jackson EMC has restored power to 5,844 more members, a total of 65,744 since the start of the storm. Yesterday’s high winds caused 10,000 new outages. Today a work force of more than 900 – the cooperative’s crews and the contractor and other EMC crews assisting us – will address the remaining 10,256 outages. Hardest hit has been Hall and Lumpkin counties, where there were 50 broken power poles.

Crews have restored power to the majority of the original 76,000 outages, and we hope to have the bulk of the remaining outages restored today, despite the freezing temperatures.
