Home Energy Evaluation Rebate

About the Home Energy Evaluation

If you’ve completed the Home Energy Monitor or Home Checkup and you’re still having comfort issues or high bill complaints, it’s time to consider a high-tech approach through a Home Energy Evaluation.

A Right Choice™-certified technician will come to your home and use state-of-the-art equipment to determine the quality of your insulation and air sealing. They'll do a full analysis of your home's energy performance, including measuring air infiltration, checking supply and return air flows, determining humidity/temperature and more, as well as check your heating and cooling system's performance.

At the end of the audit, the technician will provide you with a personalized evaluation of your home’s energy performance, with recommendations for improvement that are prioritized to address the biggest issues that will benefit you the most first.

Get Rebates When You Make Recommended Insulation & Air Sealing Improvements*

One of the most cost-effective ways to increase your home’s energy efficiency is to increase the insulation. The attic is a critical energy boundary. In the summer, the temperature in a typical Georgia attic can reach 140 degrees or more, and in the winter will usually come close to the outside temperature.

In addition, air leaks around windows, doors, attic hatches, behind kneewalls (vertical walls with attic space around them), through wiring holes, plumbing vents, recessed lighting, duct chaseways and basement rim joists (where the foundation meets the wood framing).  Locating these leaks can be difficult, since they are frequently located under insulation.  Air leaks allow your home’s conditioned air to escape, increasing your energy bills and decreasing your home’s comfort.

Jackson EMC is pleased to offer members a rebate of up to 50 percent of the cost of adding insulation and/or air sealing your home, to a maximum of $400.

Get Rebates When You Make Duct Sealing & Replacement Improvements*

Ducts are used to distribute conditioned air throughout houses. A typical house loses about 20 percent of the air that moves through the duct system due to leaks, holes and poorly connected ducts. Even the installation of a new, highly efficient heat pump can’t compensate for leaking ducts. In addition, flexible ductwork is often installed incorrectly, with kinks and twists that severely limit the airflow it was designed to handle.

Sure signs of poorly performing ducts are high bills, rooms that are difficult to heat and cool, stuffy rooms that are never comfortable, and dust. Because ducts are often located in walls, ceilings, attics and basements, repairing them requires a professional contractor.

Jackson EMC is pleased to offer members a rebate of up to 50 percent of the cost of sealing and/or replacing ductwork, to a maximum of $400.
