After being involved for more than five years, Tech Services Supervisor Todd Hubbard has been selected to serve as 2012 Chairman of the Banks County Chamber of Commerce and Conventions & Visitor’s Bureau (CVB), now that the two have merged.
As a Banks County native and resident, it was a natural fit for Hubbard to become involved with the Banks County Chamber of Commerce and CVB. When his district manager asked for assistance in covering Banks County, Todd stepped up. Since then and with his leadership, Banks County has become energized with projects like the future of Banks Crossing. He indicates that one of the most rewarding aspects is the strengthening of the relationships between the community, staff and businesses, as they work together for a better county.
“It may sound a little basic and rehearsed, but our mission is to promote existing businesses and agriculture within our community, while supporting the attraction of new business opportunities,” says Hubbard. “The Banks County Chamber of Commerce, the CVB, its staff and board of directors are dedicated to working together,” Hubbard says. These two major components symbolize what is needed for members and the community as they plan for the future. “Although we’ve experienced an economic downtown the past couple of years, I’m encouraged as I think of the prospect of new beginnings with some projects and fresh starts with others. There’s a renewed sense of excitement and our membership is vibrant and active. The possibilities and opportunities for Banks County are bright and we’re seeing some light at the end of the tunnel,” he adds.
