Local Fire Department Recognizes Employee For His Service

Darrell Chaisson, system control supervisor in Jackson EMC’s corporate office received the Distinguished Service Award from the Jefferson Fire Department (JFD).

The award is given to a member of the fire department based on involvement in activities outside the fire department in support of the JFD mission.

Chaisson often works with community leaders by representing, promoting and providing insight to the role of the fire department.  “It’s important to maintain the relationships that have been established,” Chaisson said.  He also provides administrative supervision for department activities and represents the JFD at community meetings and events.

“In addition, he responds to department calls and works his regular job,” says former Fire Chief Bobby Gooch, Jefferson Fire Department.  “His continued involvement in this organization is crucial.  Darrell has been essential to the department for 12 years and is very deserving of this honor.”

When asked what this award and role means to him, Chaisson said, “This role is very important to me since I’m able to serve a community that has meant so much to me and my family for generations.”
