Jackson EMC is accepting outside applicants for the following position.
• District Distribution Engineer, Gwinnett District Office in Lawrenceville, GA
This position is responsible for providing technical assistance in the design, construction, and improvement of the Cooperative’s distribution system in the Gwinnett District, which serves over 107,000 meters. This position also generates and reviews work orders to insure good engineering design, protective device coordination, and compliance with applicable codes and ordinances. Large DOT, commercial, and industrial projects are common. Additional duties include providing technical assistance with commercial and residential power quality issues, writing and performing switching orders, and providing engineering support during outages. Being on call to work in the district office or in the field during power restoration is required.
Successful candidates will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology. Curriculum in engineering related to the field of electrical power distribution and transmission is preferred. At least one year of responsible electric distribution experience in engineering design and layout is also preferred. Must reside or be willing to relocate within a 25-mile radius of the Gwinnett Office.
