Nepotism Policy

Close relatives of Jackson EMC's employees or directors shall not be considered for employment by the Cooperative either on a temporary or a permanent basis.

Close relatives cannot both be employed.

Close relatives of Jackson EMC's employees or directors shall not be considered for employment by the Cooperative either on a temporary or a permanent basis. The term "close relative" means children, foster or stepchildren, or their spouses; husband; wife; sister; brother; parents, foster or stepparents; grandparents; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; mother-in-law or father-in-law; sister-in-law or brother-in-law, either by blood or marriage; or any relative residing in the employees' or directors' households. Persons living together in conjugal relationships, even though not legally married, shall be considered "close relatives."

If employees of Jackson EMC marry, one of them will be required to terminate employment within 90 days. If the affected employees cannot decide which of them will terminate, the employee with the least seniority at Jackson EMC shall be terminated.

This policy shall not be applied retroactively.
