We're Not Only In Your Homes, We're In Your Schools

When you think of Jackson EMC, you may think of us providing your home's electricity, powering your computers, and even water heaters.

At Jackson EMC, we take pride in the fact that we're not only in your homes and businesses; we're also in your schools.

Jackson EMC's partnership school program serves four schools and the Barrow County Board of Education. As school partners, members of the cooperative participate in school events, electric vehicle projects, build outdoor classrooms, award mini-grants and much more. Employees also volunteer for a variety of school activities, including reading time and a pen-pal program. Each district office has a unique relationship with its partnership school. Programs and support are designed to offer each school the maximum benefit of the partnership; however, some programs like the Christmas card art contest and mini-grants are implemented in each partnership school.

We value our relationship with our partnership schools; however, we're also very active in educational programming throughout the community. Our scholarship programs, youth apprenticeships and competitions like the Energy Bowl, are only a few of the programs offered community-wide. We believe instilling leadership skills, providing scholarship opportunities and making learning a fun experience are vital in developing the youth of today into tomorrow's leaders.
