For 65 years, Jackson EMC has been active in our local communities, and our commitment continues through our Partners in Education (PIE) programs in area schools.

 

 

 

 

 

Today, one of our largest community initiatives involves our four partnership schools. Through the statewide PIE program, Jackson EMC is proud to support Benton Elementary School (Jefferson District), Hull-Sanford Elementary (Neese District), North Hall High School (Gainesville District), Creekland Middle School (Gwinnett District) and the Barrow County Board of Education.

 

 

 

 

 

Each district works closely with its partnership school to provide support and programs that benefit students and teachers. On the state level, Georgia's EMCs sponsored the Statewide PIE Conference held February 19-20 in Athens. Corporations, organizations and local businesses support the Partners in Education program across the state, and Jackson EMC is proud to be part of the effort.

Mini-grants: Teachers can apply for a classroom need that is not typically funded in their school's operating budget. Through the years, our grants have helped fund new software programs, field trips and new sports equipment, to name a few.

 

 

 

 

 

Christmas Card Design Contest: Each year students design holiday cards, and our employees select winners from each partnership school. All first place winners are featured on our holiday cards.

 

 

 

 

 

Reading Program: In our elementary schools, employees volunteer their time to read with students.

 

 

 

 

 

Electric Safety Presentations: Armed with demonstrations, employees go into classrooms to teach how electricity works, how to recognize electricity dangers and hazards and promote safety around electricity.

 

 

 

 

 

Partnering with four schools in our service territory is one way we can give back to the community.
