Members who qualify to participate in the Senior Plan
can pay their electric bills after the due date.
Frequently, members' monthly Social Security, disability or pension checks don't arrive at the same time their electric bill is due. Members who qualify to participate in the Senior Plan can pay their electric bills after the due date without affecting their credit records or being charged late fees.
Customers participating in the Senior Plan must still pay their bills before the disconnect date or be subject to disconnection of their electric service.
To qualify for the Senior Plan, you must
- Be at least 62 years of age or qualified to receive disability income from an approved plan;
- Have a residential account for a primary residence and/or a pump supplying water to a primary residence; and
- Complete a Senior Plan application and provide your date of birth, Social Security number and/or proof of another approved retirement or disability plan.
Contact your local Jackson EMC office for a Senior Plan application.
