Jemco News Has a New Look
June Message from Randall Pugh
President/CEO
Jemco News has a new look, and we're excited to tell you about its redesign. Our Communications staff's primary goal was to give the publication a fresh, new design with a contemporary look and easy-to-read articles.
We have our members to thank for giving us direction on how our new Jemco News should look and feel. Here are some of the key survey findings:
- 63% of members said Jemco News is informative, 42% think it's useful and 36% say they find it interesting.
- Nearly 50% said Jemco News is relevant to them.
- For the most part, members approve of the current mix of articles, and suggest having shorter articles.
Members found articles about energy efficiency, money-saving tips and community involvement most interesting. Readers want to see more articles on these topics in Jemco. As a result, Jemco's redesign allows us to add more sections that are quick tidbits such as Do-It-Yourself tips, Need to Know, What's Online and Community Impact.
We're especially excited about our mini-feature and feature options, where articles will dedicate a full page to the subject. You'll often see full feature sections as well where some of our popular topics will receive the two-page center spread in the publication. Subjects like, "How Your Power is Restored" and youth and scholarship programs will be featured in the two-page spreads.
Some members thought Jemco was difficult to read, so a new typeface is being used, along with different heading treatments to clearly separate the stories. The area our team had the most fun with was adding the brighter colors.
Our corporate colors are blue and gold, and although we thought they were bright and bold, members thought we could go brighter. You'll see a wider variety of colors to complement our corporate blue and gold. We're pleased with the mix and grateful to our membership for the suggestion.
Jemco News is your publication, provided as part of your membership in Jackson EMC. We're pleased to launch our new look, and have you, our membership, to thank for the honest feedback and suggestions.
