The Not-So-New of the New Year

Our mission at Jackson EMC is to provide our members with consistently reliable electric service and products to create safe, comfortable and energy-efficient living and working environments. To do that, we plan years into the future, maintain our infrastructure to the highest standards, provide excellent customer service, and incorporate new technologies that help further our goal. In 2008, we will stay the course.

That's not to say, however, that we will be standing still. During this new year, we will continue to explore the opportunities associated with automated meter reading and expand the capabilities of our Outage Management System to improve the speed of power restoration when an outage occurs. We will add features to enhance our Web site and ensure that it meets our members' needs. We will look for ways to increase the efficiency and responsiveness of our Contact Center. We will continue to offer services such as our High Tech Energy Audit to help members lower their energy bills, and EMC Security Service to protect their homes and businesses, while we evaluate new products and services based on interests stated in recent member surveys. And we will renew our commitment to community support through Operation Round Up.

While all of us will feel the long-term effects of the drought in North Georgia, we will continue to prepare for a growing economy by planning and thinking "outside the box" to expand our power generation capacity for our growing communities. As we do, we'll look for the best portfolio of reliable and economical sources, as well as renewable sources, to ensure that we have the power to meet our members' needs.

Jackson EMC has been delivering reliable energy to our members since 1939. We will continue that tradition throughout 2008 and into the future. All of our work with new technologies, new services and new innovations supports our commitment to bringing you the best customer service we can provide, even if that's a very old fashioned idea.
