Updating to Better Serve Our Members
Jackson EMC’s Jefferson District Office Undergoes Complete Renovation

For Immediate Release
(Jefferson, Ga., May 15, 2008)

Demolition teams are on site as the Jefferson District office undergoes a complete renovation. The construction work to update the Jefferson office will last through December according to Jim Crawford, Jackson EMC vice-president of Customer and District Services.

“We’re asking customers to be patient with us during renovation. Our drive-thru is closed until September and there’s also a temporary front entrance,” says Crawford. “The Jefferson District office is nearly 30 years old, and served us and our members well. We’ve experienced significant growth since then, and it’s time to bring our office up-to-date to better meet our members’ and employees’ needs. We’ve come a long way since 1980.”

The drive-thru is closed; however, the night deposit drop is still available in the same location. A wheelchair-accessible temporary entrance allows customers to make payments inside the office. “We divided the project into two phases in order to minimize the impact on both our members and employees. We want to complete the work while still providing outstanding customer service to members who wish to walk in and pay their bills, set up new service or conduct other business with our Jefferson District staff,” Crawford said.

Randall Pugh, Jackson EMC president and CEO, asks that members visiting the office follow the instructions on the signs out front for their safety. “During this time, we ask members to use caution if coming into the office. We’ve secured a safe location to enter the office, and as with any construction site, we ask our members and employees to be aware of their surroundings when entering and exiting the building.”

Members can mail their payments to P.O. Box 100, Jefferson, Ga., 30549 or call 1-800-325-8597 to pay by electronic check, MasterCard®, Visa® or Discover® card or ATM/debit cards with a Pulse, Star, NYCE or Accel logo. For 24-hour access to their accounts and to make bill payments, members can visit our secure online payment site at http://www.jacksonemc.com/paybill.
