It's that time of year again!
You can apply for three scholarship awards through Jackson EMC. The Walter Harrison, the A.T. Sharpton-Gainesville College and the A.T. Sharpton Unrestricted Scholarship applications are due by March 3. The Walter-Harrison scholarship, sponsored by cooperatives statewide, and the A.T. Sharpton scholarships are available to students who live in areas served by Jackson EMC.
Walter-Harrison Scholarship
Named in honor of a leader in the state and national electric cooperative movements, the Walter Harrison scholarship is issued statewide to undergraduate students enrolled in or accepted by a Georgia college, university or technical school. The Harrison Scholarship is based on financial need and academic ability.
A.T. Sharpton-Gainesville College
The A.T. Sharpton-Gainesville College award is named after the late chairman of the Jackson EMC Board of Directors. The award is available exclusively for students planning to attend Gainesville College. Financial need is the primary consideration for this scholarship; however, academic average, class rank, standardized test scores and faculty recommendations are also considered.
A.T. Sharpton Unrestricted
The A.T. Sharpton Unrestricted Scholarship is available to students enrolled in any accredited two- or four-year college or university in the nation. This scholarship is available for both undergraduate and graduate students.
