The Mean Green Recycling Machine

Around here, the green-eyed monster is our friend. Before you begin to wonder if we've lost it, let us explain. Not to be confused with the more common green-eyed monster known as envy, our green-eyed monster is Green Power — our very own mean, green recycling machine.

In fact, there are three mean, green recycling machines around the state, better known as landfills. Our green energy program uses naturally produced gas from these landfills to create electricity. You are supporting clean, renewable energy with your Green Power subscription.

Your subscription costs will be added to your regular electric bill. You'll pay an extra $4.50 a month for a 150 kilowatt block of green energy — that's just 15 cents a day — less than you spend on a soda or postage stamp. You can cancel your subscription at any time.
