Competing in two national competitions, Jackson EMC's Public Relations and Communications department received more than a dozen awards this year.

Cooperatives such as Welch's, Sunkist and Land-O-Lakes are among the members served by the Cooperative Communicators Association. This year, cooperatives submitted nearly 800 entries - a record in this competition.

The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) recognized winners at its 2005 Spotlight on Excellence awards ceremony honoring the best in marketing and communications. Now in its 17th year, Spotlight on Excellence received a record 710 entries. The competition only awards first (Award of Excellence) and second (Award of Merit) places.
