Fellow Cooperative Joins EMC Security?

County's Fifth Habitat House Is a Week Ahead of Schedule

GreyStone Power Corporation, an electric membership corporation, became a new, joint owner of EMC Security with Jackson EMC and Walton EMC on October 1. The cooperative security venture offers security and fire protection, along with other technologies such as advanced wiring, central vacuum, home theater, whole house audio, video and a wide range of commercial and industrial products and services.

EMC Security, formed by Jackson and Walton EMCs in June 1998, ended its first year of operation with only 200 subscribers. Just eight years later, the cooperative venture serves more than 15,500 subscribers and has been ranked among the top 75 security installation firms in the nation by Security Distributing and Marketing, a security industry publication. EMC Security services both residential and commercial customers.

GreyStone Power began offering its members security services through GreyStone Security, a division of GreyStone Power, around the same time EMC Security was formed. GreyStone Power's GreyStone Security division has joined the cooperative venture to take advantage of economies of scale and to offer their members access to the additional products and services offered by EMC Security.

Security subscribers served by the new Jackson/Walton/GreyStone partnership will include 7,990 Jackson EMC, 4,700 Walton EMC and 4,500 GreyStone Security customers.
