Energy Bowl Scholarship Now $2,000

We're looking for high school juniors wishing to put their brainpower to the test at the Jackson EMC 2007 Energy Bowl competition. Electricity, energy, science and the environment are subjects featured during the three-round competition of this Jeopardy ®-like event.

Energy Bowl competition takes place Thursday, November 8, at the Jackson EMC office in Jefferson. The winner earns an all-expense paid trip to the 2008 Washington Youth Tour, a $2,000 scholarship, a $1,000 school grant, prizes and bragging rights, all in the name of science.

Applications and letters of recommendation are due at the Jackson EMC corporate office in Jefferson no later than 4 p.m., Thursday, October 25. Interested participants should contact their high school counselor or download an application. If selected, a study packet will be mailed to the contestant's high school, allowing students two weeks to prepare for competition. For questions or to request a mailed application, please contact Kay Parks at 706-367-6122 or by e-mail at kparks@jacksonemc.com.
