Donate Your Old Cell Phones at Your Local District Office

Cells for Sight Drop-Offs Now at Jackson EMC.

Jackson EMC is now the proud partner of the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, Inc., the non-profit organization that provides vision and hearing care to uninsured Georgians. The Lighthouse also serves residents who have no other resources for eye exams, eyeglasses, eye surgeries, low vision aids, prosthetic eyes or hearing aids. All Jackson EMC district offices are now drop-off sites for the Cells for Sight Program.

Bring your old cell phones to your local Jackson EMC office. The Lighthouse sells the phones to a recycling company, and the money helps Georgians who need eye surgery, glasses or hearing aids.

No Old Cell? Bring Your Old Eyeglasses

If you don't have an old cell phone to donate, the Lighthouse also needs your old eyeglasses. Your eyeglasses are made like new and provided to those unable to afford eyeglasses.

By partnering with a variety of businesses like Jackson EMC, the Lions Club is able to increase the number of items collected. "The Cells for Sight Program is a much-needed service, and we are honored to be part of a program dedicated to helping those in need. We consider it our corporate duty to support this program and offer our members the opportunity to support it as well," says Randall Pugh, Jackson EMC president/CEO.
