Don’t Forget to Call Before You Dig
Don’t let a simple landscaping project turn deadly. Call before you dig to be sure you’re clear of all utility lines, especially electric and gas lines. Just dial three numbers, 811, three days before starting any work, to connect with the Utilities Protection Center (UPC).
Whether you’re doing the work or hiring a contractor, don’t forget to call. In fact, it’s the law. Georgia’s High Voltage Safety Act requires Georgians to notify the UPC before digging to protect the public and ensure no underground utilities are damaged. For more information, visit www.gaupc.com.
