If you'll be entertaining children this summer, let them help make their own lunch with this easy recipe. It's fun to prepare and simple enough for learning cooks.
1 can (11 1/2 oz.) refrigerated cornbread twists
8 Popsicle sticks
8 bun-length wieners
8 or more slices of ready-to-serve bacon
Separate cornbread dough into 8 sticks, pinching short ends together to seal. Roll or press each piece into a 14-inch rope. Insert Popsicle sticks lengthwise into wieners, leaving 1 inch of stick exposed. Wrap each cornbread rope in spiral fashion around each wiener, pressing ends of dough to seal. Wrap 1 or 2 bacon slices in spiral fashion around each cornbread-covered wiener; press bacon into cornbread. Please on cookie sheet sprayed with no-stick cooking spray. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until cornbread is golden brown.
Have catsup, mustard and honey for dipping. Makes 8 servings.
