The Inspirations have been voted the most popular singing group in gospel music six times, with more than 62 chart-topping songs in gospel music publication The Singing News. The Inspirations started singing "just for fun" in the basement when science teacher Martin Cook started The Inspirations with a group of his students. In the 30 years since, the group has performed in nearly every state, including Hawaii.
