Everything is available at the click of the mouse. This interactive program provides personalized reports about your home’s energy use, along with recommendations on ways to save energy. On this section of our Web site, you’ll get cost-saving suggestions to reduce your energy bill, see how your energy bill compares with those of similar homes and determine where your energy dollars are going. You’ll also find links to products and services to help make those cost-saving ideas a reality.
Request to have this Do-It-Yourself Kit sent directly to your home. Complete with literature and video hosted by HGTV's Pat Simpson, the kit walks you through a checklist to help examine your home and identify potential problems. The information also provides suggestions to improve your home’s energy efficiency and reduce your energy bill.
One of our Jackson EMC representatives will conduct the Right Choice In-Home Energy Audit, a free service offered by Jackson EMC. Our representatives have the expertise and know-how to locate problems that you may have overlooked. If the audit finds a problem with air infiltration or a more complex heating and cooling problem, representatives may recommend a more in-depth analysis with the Right Choice™ Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® Audit, a more technical measurement of your home’s energy efficiency.
Right Choice™ Home Performance
with ENERGY STAR® Audit
You’ve tried the Analyzer and Audit Kit and still find comfort and energy bills less than satisfactory – call in the professionals. Our most accurate and scientific analysis is done with energy experts using the Right Choice™ Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® Audit. The audit costs average $350 for the heating and cooling system and the home performance analysis*. Additionally, Jackson EMC members can receive rebates that offset a portion of the audit cost. Because the Home Performance Audit is much more in-depth than our other Home Checkup services, it requires more time, usually about two to four hours. Once completed, you’ll receive a prioritized list of recommendations to improve your home’s energy efficiency and comfort. *Additional HVAC units tested will incur an additional cost.
